Abstract
•The signal model of bistatic FDA-MIMO STAP radar is derived.•The new 3D clutter characteristics of bistatic FDA-MIMO STAP radar are analyzed.•The proposed 3D filter has the advantage on training data selection.•The criteria for designation of Tx array parameters are provided.•Both problems of range dependence and range ambiguity in bistatic STAP are solved.
