---|---|---|
•A taxonomy of ten widely-used PMDs is presented based on five diseases they treat.•The PMD attack-flow diagram was created to identify the most vulnerable components.•An in-depth survey covering 17 attacks and 21 security mechanisms is provided.•Significant security gaps were found, as security mechanisms don’t cover all attacks.•Development of machine learning-based framework aimed at securing PMDs is suggested. |
