Abstract | ||
---|---|---|
•We describe a 3D cross-directional bilateral filter (3D-CDBF) for low-dose CT.•3D-CDBF was designed and tested for edge-preserving noise reduction.•Task-based noise reduction was superior to model-based iterative reconstruction.•Performance was also superior for very low dose (2.5 mGy) abdominal CT images.•This image-based 3D-CDBF is applicable for CT images from various scanner models. |
