Title
Euclidean Space with Orbital Angular Momentum
Abstract
Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) has been considered as a new dimension of wireless transmission as well as the intrinsic property of electromagnetic wave. When OAM is applied with the traditional modulation and coding, the extended Euclidean space can be established to illustrate the signal with OAM dimension. In this paper, according to whether or not the OAM is utilized as the independent dimension with orthogonality, three kinds of mathematical models of the Euclidean space are established. Some typical modulation constellations joint with the trellis coding are discussed and analyzed. The performances of Bit Error Rate (BER) and transmission capacity are evaluated by the Euclidean distance within the Euclidean space, which confirms the appealing capability of the proposed Euclidean space in the corresponding signal processing with OAM.
