Open Innovation Laboratories as Enabling Resources to Reach the Vision of Education 4.0
Abstract
Through the years, the education sector has been influenced by the evolution of technology and the global, regional and local social dynamics. Therefore, today, teaching and learning methods include the use of emerging information and communication technologies (ICTs), advanced tools and innovative facilities. Also, teaching and learning methods are focused on developing desirable competencies in today's students to motivate them to propose solutions to the problems of today and the future. This new era has been known as "Education 4.0". This paper describes how Open Innovation Laboratories are used as enabling resources to reach the vision of Education 4.0 and describes a case of implementation at the Tecnológico de Monterrey University in Mexico.
