Title
A Low PAPR DHT Precoding Based UFMC Scheme for 5G Communication Systems
Abstract
Universal Filtered Multi-Carriers (UFMC) has become one of the promising modulation scheme for upcoming 5G Communication Systems due to its robustness against multiuser interference and short burst support. However, UFMC systems faces a challenging problem in the form of high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). The high PAPR value downplays the efficiency of UFMC transmitter. To counter the high PAPR value, in this paper, a low PAPR Discrete-Hartley Transform Precoding based UFMC (DHT-P-UFMC) scheme has been proposed and analyzed through Monte-Carlo simulations. The simulation results indicate that the proposed DHT-P-UFMC system has low PAPR as compared to the Selected-Mapping (SLM) based UFMC system and the conventional UFMC system available in the literature. The proposed scheme is based on a linear precoding, hence, it does not require any kind of side information or complex optimizations.
