Problems of effective development in conditions of corruption
Abstract
Despite the fact that corruption, as a subject of research, deserved attention in the study of economic theory's already a few decades ago, there is still a vague idea about this phenomenon. Active disputes are being held on the definition of the term "corruption", the impact of corruption on economic growth, the effectiveness of corruption for the economy as a whole, as a regulator it is worth fighting against corruption. In addition, the literature on corruption lacks the organization and generalizations of the main findings. The purpose of this scientific work is to review the economic literature and systematize the conclusions in the discipline. The current work begins with a review of definitions of the term "corruption" and its classification. Then, by analyzing main effects of corruption on the economic development of countries in the micro and macro levels. In the future, the article explores the dilemma of the effectiveness of corruption and the theory that develop it. Then there is a comparison with a similar phenomenon corruption disclosed Tullock, known as rent-seeking, behavior. Next, the article describes the impact of corruption on the state apparatus and its development, and underscore the possible consequences. In conclusion, they discuss measures to prevent the development of corruption and the strategy for their application. At the end of the article, you can find conclusions and possible topics for future research.
