We demonstrate a SOA-based all-optical thresholding device that yields a sigmoidal transfer function suitable for signal processing and neuromorphic photonics applications. The transfer function has been validated both theoretically and experimentally revealing a 7.5dB transition range between 0” and 1”, reduced by 4.5dB compared to a simple SOA-MZI device. |
