Abstract
•The possibility degree and divergence degree of IVIFVs are defined to rank IVIFVs.•To derive DMs' weights, an intuitionistic fuzzy linear program is constructed.•An adjusted possibility distribution matrix for each attribute is established.•Attribute weights are determined by the adjusted possibility distribution matrices.•A new method is proposed for interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy MAGDM.
