One of the most important infrastructures that enable IoT-based Smart cities is Smart Parking. Therein, the fundamental part that is driving the whole system is the detection if the parking slot is occupied. This paper gives an overview of technologies used for the detection, and deeper insights on the real-scenario performances of magnetometer and infrared sensor as the most popular ones. Further, the analysis on power consumption and battery lifetime is provided which is of crucial importance for the sensor deployments. |
