Abstract | ||

Renewable energy has shown tremendous growth in recent years, especially solar energy. However, solar energy strictly requires high gain DC-DC converter for the regulation purpose. To meet the requirement, two coupled inductor based DC-DC converters are proposed in this paper. These coupled inductor utilizes the two winding coupled inductor which is cost and size effective as compared to three winding coupled inductor. The first converter is a combination of a switched inductor and coupled inductor which is named as switched inductor based coupled inductor converter while other is a combination of switched inductor/capacitor and coupled inductor and hence named as switched inductor/capacitor based coupled inductor converter. The operation and steady analysis of these converters are elaborated. A comparative analysis is also presented to validate the potential of the proposed converters. Finally, these converters are simulated in PSIM 11.0 to demonstrate the suitability. |
