•Envelope extraction after logistic function based amplitude moderation (LFAM) of the PCG signal is proposed.•The sigmoid characteristic of LFAM is manipulated to enhance the heart sound signal intensities.•It involves calibration of the transition point of the lag phase and the growth rate of the sigmoid.•The parameter values are calculated for each PCG signal to fit with the nature of the signal (clean, noisy). |
