Title
Principal component analysis based approach for understanding electrocoagulation setting impact on chromium elimination: a step toward smart eco-friendly city
Abstract
Industrial processes produce large quantities of Chromium (Cr) to throw into the oceans. These chromium releases are very dangerous for our environment. Thus, it is very important to treat these industrial discharges before getting rid of them. Several methods have been used to treat the chromium such as electrocoagulation, precipitation and so on. Each method has its own parameters that influence the experimentation results. This paper presents a statistical approach to find the optimal parameters having a major impact on the chromium elimination process. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method is used to quantify the amount of information contained in each parameter and we found pH, experiment time and electrodes distance impact the chromium elimination greatly. Analysis results allow us to optimize and understand better the purification process. We consider the proposed approach a step ahead towards a green industry friend of nature.
