Abstract
•A novel hybrid approach to tackle a site selection problem was proposed.•The CODAS-TB method was extended based on interval-valued multi-granular 2-tuple linguistics.•The ITL-CODAS-TB approach was extended by combining it with the Best-Worst-Method.•A site selection problem of a shopping mall in Tehran, Iran was investigated.•The optimal solution of the current study is same as the selected area by policymakers.
