•A container drayage problem with multi-resource constraints is proposed.•A graph-based nonlinear mixed-integer mathematical model is built.•The model is linearized with a key parameter analyzed deeply.•A large neighborhood search algorithm is designed and validated.•The two methods can solve the problem efficiently.
