Title
The divergence-conforming immersed boundary method: Application to vesicle and capsule dynamics
Abstract
•The DCIB method is extended to FSI problems involving closed co-dimension one solids.•The DCIB method leads to volume changes orders of magnitude lower than conventional IB methods.•Higher inter-element continuity prevents quadrature errors from becoming the dominant error.•Differential geometry formulae are directly used to compute the force that the solids exert on the fluid.•Numerous comparisons with other numerical methods are included.
