Abstract
•A FMEA method considering the weights of risk factors is introduced.•An extended matter-element model integrating with AHP is developed.•The closeness coefficient is presented to rank the failure modes.•Case study, sensitivity analysis and comparison analysis show the effectiveness of the proposed FMEA method.
