In this research work we have investigated the impact on landcover of one of the most powerful storm, Fani which strike the State of Odisha, India. The investigation is performed by investigating the texture features obtained from both pre-strike and post-strike satellite images. Initially, the texture visual features are obtained for the pre-images which are later compared with the post-strike image. The features are obtained through Grey level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) change detection (CD) technique which provides both spectral and spatial information about the different types of changes that got established in the land cover through Fani destruction. Histogram plots also suggest that the change in the texture of the land cover occurs which are further quantified through GLCM technique. GLCM is obtained for different orientation angles i.e.. Finally, change in the texture features in term of percentage is obtained. |
