Abstract
•This paper aims to recognize Chinese and English subtitles of video.•Connectionist Text Proposal Network is adopted for video subtitle detection.•We utilize ResNet to obtain representative feature sequences of subtitle text lines.•Bidirectional GRU is applied to model feature sequences and predict results.•The standard CTC is employed to calculate the loss, and output the final result.
