Title
On The Achievable Rate Performance Of Broadcast Omc System With User Mobility
Abstract
Optical mobile communication (OMC) Is a newly proposed optical wireless communication concept aiming to provide very high speed optical wireless links for multiple, and in general distributed, mobile users. In previous work, rate performance of a two-user system in the static scenario is analyzed and compared with conventional schemes. This paper extends the results to multiple users with mobility. Mobility introduces new challenges on the system design, including how to generate a proper light spot with optimized parameters, how to distribute powers among different users, and others which will be investigated in this paper. Achievable rate analysis is given for broadcast communication in two cases: one is for communication with deterministic user speeds, and the other is for communication with random user speeds. Ergodic and outage rates are calculated in the latter case. Numerical results are provided to show the superiority of the OMC scheme over the conventional scheme with non-adjustable power split ratios, and lead to sonic interesting conclusions and research lines.
