Title
Energy Consumption Behavior Model for an Urban Transportation System Using Multidimensional Correlation Structures : Applied at the Trolley Bus System in Solingen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany)
Abstract
This paper presents a method to investigate the energy consumption behavior of a Battery Overhead Line Bus by using correlation structures to create a first vehicle model. Furthermore, the energy demand of the project urban transportation system is computer-based simulated in a full electrified scenario by using this vehicle model. Therewith, energy consumption hotspots, provided by specific grid sections, are revealed. This represents the necessity of an intergrid balancing and its potential as well. Inferable smart operation concepts are able to equalize the grid usage and pave the way for a smart trolley bus system, which might be one of the jigsaw pieces of the cross-sectoral energy revolution.
