Title
Explore double-opponency and skin color for saliency detection
Abstract
•A new foreground saliency map based on the color-opponency mechanisms of the biological visual system by specifically simulating the DO cells with concentric RF is proposed.•An efficient skin color saliency map is created to combine skin color and spatial distribution of those elements, whereby the skin color region detected are often brighter than those of existing state-of-the-art methods.•A fusion strategy is proposed to integrate the foreground, skin, center, and background saliencies, which highlights the saliency objects and suppresses the background more effectively.
