Title
Wind Power Plants Operation at Variable Wind Speeds
Abstract
The purpose of the present paper is to build a driving algorithm ensuring, from the point of view of the captured wind energy, the wind turbine’s operation within the optimum area, based on the measurements of the wind speed. The optimum values of the permanent magnet synchronous generator’s (PMSG) delivered power are determined based on the kinetic moment equation, such that the PMSG’s mechanical angular speed tends towards the optimum one. The operation of one wind power turbine, within the wind farm located in Dobrogea, is analyzed by measuring the wind speed with a sampling step of 30 [s]. The optimum values of the PMSG’s delivered power are compared with the real ones, measured at the permanent magnet synchronous generator output. Finally, the conclusion are drawn.
