Trees with maximum exponential Randić index.
Abstract
The Randić index χ is possibly the graph-based molecular structure descriptor most widely applied in chemistry and pharmacology. Having in mind its discrimination ability, recently the exponential of the Randić index eχ was introduced. It is known that among all trees with n vertices, eχ attains its minimum value in the star Sn . We show in this paper that eχ attains its maximum value in the path Pn.
