•Dealing with the general framework of a K-out-of-N system where the degradation of each component is modelled by a pure jump Lévy process.•Setting up a condition-based maintenance with periodic inspections of all the components where the imperfect maintenance in the system level is involved.•The maintenance cost in both the short run and long run horizons are calculated.•Application of the results for a 3-blade wind turbine maintenance is proposed. |
