Abstract | ||

The paper proposes a distributed mechanism for scheduling computation offloading tasks in Mobile Edge Cloud (MEC) networks, based on an evolutionary Internet framework named New IP (BPP). Beyond the simple tasks, the paper further studies how to schedule the complex computation offloading tasks with corresponding algorithms proposed, which are the periodic task and the task with parallel dependency among the sub-tasks. The performance evaluations are conducted on latency and control message overhead comparison with the legacy centralized approaches. The results show the substantial latency reduction for the complex computation offloading tasks, as well as overall reduced control message overhead. |
