Title
Simplifying the Process of Creating Augmented Outdoor Scenes
Abstract
Creating augmented reality content has experienced increasing interest. However, existing tools for the broad audience are often limited in the capabilities they provide – applying filters and placing predefined assets. In this paper, we propose an intuitive framework to generate large scale augmented overlays for outdoor scenes supporting the creative process and allowing simple sharing of the location-based experience. We introduce a novel concept of using virtual reality for content creation. This includes using a simple 3D city model. Based on this model we are also able to improve the resulting AR visualization by handling occlusions as well as a content-specific improved alignment.
