With the rapid development of wireless technologies, Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are becoming an important networking infrastructure due to their low cost and increased high speed wireless Internet connectivity. However, WMNs have some problems sush as node placement problem, security, transmission power and so on. In this work, we deal with node placement problem. In our previous work, we implemented a hybrid simulation system based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Hill Climbing (HC) called WMN-PSOHC for solving the node placement problem in WMNs. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of two mesh router replacement methods: Random Inertia Weight Method (RIWM) and Rational Decrement of Vmax Method (RDVM) by WMN-PSOHC hybrid intelligent simulation system. Simulation results show that a better performance is achieved for RIWM compared with RDVM. |
