Abstract | ||

This paper proposes an adaptive droop control method to balance the state of charge (SoC) of distributed battery energy units (BEUs) with different capacities in DC microgrid. In this proposed method, the droop coefficient of BEU is adjusted by its SoC value as well as its capacity in order to regulate the BEU's output power. From the modified droop coefficient, the virtual power rating is determined to implement the accurate power sharing among BEUs with balanced SoC despite of the different line resistance. In addition, a voltage restoration method is introduced to keep the DC voltage level within an allowable region. The proposed control method is implemented with the aid of communication network, and the performance is verified by simulation results. |
