Title
Optimal Security Cost for Latency-Aware Service Provisioning in Mobile Edge Computing
Abstract
This paper proposes a security-aware resource allocation mechanism for a multi-cloud orchestration over a 5G network. The proposed mechanism is formulated as a Semi-Markov Decision process (SMDP) model, where a security-driven cost structure is designed to minimize the cost of providing security services. The performance of the proposed mechanism is evaluated considering the probability of rejecting the service, the probability of satisfying and violating the Service Level Agreement (SLA), the average security cost, and the optimal cost. Results have shown that the number of virtual machines (VMs) used to execute and protect the running application play a key role in the provisioning of security.
