Future networks relying on models in their applications, e.g., control loops in the Tactile Internet, will exhibit a need to have model parameters available before interactions take place. This anticipatory delivery of model weights effectively results in required negative latencies for the overall services. We provide an exemplary motivation based on advertising to mobile users that is optimized by user-modeled preferences. We employ this example for our discussion of anticipatory networking in this paper, with an overall focus on the overarching concepts. |
