Title
Investigation of the Effect of the Measuring Probe Orientation on the Wireless Radio Signal Transmission in Measurements on a CNC Machine Tool
Abstract
The paper describes the use of touch probes with radio signal transmission on CNC machine tools. One of such probes is the RMP600 with secure wireless radio signal transmission and frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) in the 2.4 GHz band. Both the transmission and band comply with the radio transmission requirements for all major CNC machine tools. The paper presents the results of the authors' investigation of the accuracy of touch probes used on CNC machine tools. In particular, the effect of filter settings on the delay time T of the probe with wireless radio transmission of data was examined and the effect of attaching the radio interface on the probe was determined. The use of probes on CNC machine tools enables workpiece inspection and considerably shortens job set-up time. Obtained results are plotted in diagrams.
