Title
Enhancing environmental enforcement with near real-time monitoring: Likelihood-based detection of structural expansion of intensive livestock farms
Abstract
•We develop methods for near real-time monitoring for environmental enforcement.•Methods are needed particularly for high-cadence, lower-resolution imagery.•Our method enables changepoint detection in such time series of segmented images.•We validate the method with intensive livestock farms that pose environmental risk.•The maximum likelihood approach outperforms state-of-the-art baselines.
