Title
Scale-specific dynamics of high-amplitude bursts in EEG capture behaviorally meaningful variability
Abstract
•Neuronal avalanches in human EEG during rest and tasks show scale-free dynamics.•Metrics assessing avalanche dynamics vary with individuals and experimental states.•A novel metric is proposed to estimate the localized distributions of avalanches.•This metric displays scale-dependence and captures task-related functional changes.•Localized avalanche distributions explain individual task performance variability.
