Abstract
This paper presents the architecture and techniques used to realize the first direct-digitization open-loop gyroscope frontend, which achieves an input range of +/-8000°/s (4x larger than state of art [1]–[4]) with a noise floor of 0.0047°/s/√Hz, deployed in an inertial measurement unit (IMU) drawing 650μA from a 1.8V supply in gyroscope-only mode.
