Human-Centered Design in Online Laboratories for Graduate Engineering Students
Abstract
To enhance user experience and provide more accessible services regarding online experimentation, a new framework of the NCSLab system which integrates various state-of-the-art technologies based on React has been designed and implemented. This paper introduces the design activity and human-centered design (HCD) principle of the new NCSLab system, and investigates the engagement of graduate students with a control background at Wuhan University in the process of design and implementation of the new version of the online system NCSLab to enhance the HCD process. The system has already been put online and applied to teaching practice at Wuhan University.
