Predictive masking of an artificial scotoma is associated with a system-wide reconfiguration of neural populations in the human visual cortex |
Abstract | ||
---|---|---|
•PM of scotomas evokes system-wide reconfiguration of cortical connectivity and pRFs.•Throughout the visual hierarchy, pRFs shifted towards the AS border.•The pRFs shifts can be explained by a gain field model centered on the AS border.•Neural populations in extrastriate cortex increase their V1 sampling outside AS.•RFs reconfiguration in early visual areas is driven by extrastriate feedback signals. |
