Title
Impact of Number of Nodes Used in 3D LPTN on the Results and Computational Time of the PMSM Validated by FEA and Measurement
Abstract
Thermal analysis is one of the key aspects of electrical machine design. This paper presents an analysis of lumped parameter thermal model (LPTM) of the electrical machine. The paper shows a comparison of the different sizes of thermal models. Different quantities of the thermal nodes in the LPTM are analyzed. The main advantage of research is the reduction of the number of thermal nodes in the thermal model which leads to reducing calculating matrices and also reducing computing time. Several modifications of the thermal networks are applied at the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and that are experimentally validated, also finite element analyses are applied and compared.
