Title
Extending K-cover genetic algorithm for efficient energy consumption in WSNs
Abstract
WSNs (Wireless Sensor Networks) are more and more popular and their applicability range gets wider as the popularity increases. Even though WSNs are considered to be one of the most promising areas from the computer science field, they also have some drawbacks. Since the sensor nodes can be deployed in different terrains and zones, it is not always easy to reach them in order to verify and maintain their energy level high enough for proper functioning. This paper proposes to extend the lifetime of WSNs and increase the efficiency of energy consumption using an approach based on genetic algorithms.
