Title
Analytical Model for Single-hop Broadcast in FANET
Abstract
Broadcast is a vital communication mechanism in Flying Ad hoc network (FANET), which is actually an Ad hoc network in three-dimensional space. In this paper, we propose an analytic model for broadcast performance of IEEE802.11 based FANET. Taking the impact of hidden terminals and concurrent transmissions into account, theoretical models of single-hop broadcast reception rates and average delay in 3D Ad hoc networks are given for the first time. The analytic model is validated by comparing theoretical results to the simulation results in NS2.
