Underwater DOA estimation based on cross-correlation domain for relocating improved nested array
Abstract
•It is proposed a novel RINA configuration with increasing DOFs and hole-free co-array.•Compared to NA, the optimal consecutive DOFs of RINA increased by M−4 DOFs when M is even and by M−5 DOFs when M is odd.•It is proposed a C-CD algorithm for DOA estimation in the cross-correlation domain.•The C-CD algorithm can achieve a fast estimation of source directions due to its spatial spectrum without pseudo peaks.•The results of pool experiments verify the feasibility of applying RINA and C-CD algorithm to underwater DOA estimation.
