Research on monitoring alarm and localization of weights loading on composite materials
Abstract
Among the damage monitoring methods used in aircraft composites, piezoelectric sensor networks and guided wave methods have been extensively investigated in the field of structural health monitoring. In this paper, the carbon fiber composite plates was used as the experimental materials, the purpose was to achieve the weights loading monitoring of composite materials structures. The method of monitoring alarm and the method of imaging and localization were proposed, then the weight monitoring experiments by arranging piezoelectric transducers arrayed on a composite plate structure was carried out, the results show that the monitoring alarm and the imaging and localization could be achieved for weights placed on the surface of the structure at different positions and with different masses, the localization error was less than 0.75cm.
