Title
Human-Centered Participatory Co-design of a Dosimetry-Quality Assurance Checklist in an Academic Cancer Center
Abstract
Most radiation oncology centers use in-house quality assurance (QA) checklists to ensure patient safety. Unfortunately, most of these QA checklists are often implemented in clinical settings without formal usability evaluation. We applied a human-centered participatory co-design framework to identify design changes to a dosimetry QA checklist (DQC) currently deployed in an academic radiation oncology center and develop a user-focused functional prototype of an enhanced DQC. We found that the human-centered participatory co-design framework used in this study holds promise in improving the usability of QA checklists currently deployed in clinical settings.
