Title
An Intelligent Reflecting Surface-Assisted Uplink C-RSMA System
Abstract
Intelligent reflection surface (IRS) is emerging as a promising technique for future wireless communications. In this paper, inspired by cognitive radio, we utilize IRS to assist secondary user (SU) transmission in uplink cognitive rate split multiple access (C-RSMA) system, where the primary users' (PU's) quality of service (QoS) requirements must be guaran-teed. Without introducing other interference that affects the PU outage performance, the SU performs rate splitting (RS) and transmits its signal to the base station via the direct link and IRS reflection channel. For SU performs RS, we analyze the optimal transmission rate allocation scheme and sequential interference cancellation signal decoding order to help SU obtain the maximum allowable achievable rate, which improves the SU's outage performance. Finally, we derive a closed-form expression for the SU outage probability achieved by the IRS-assisted C- RSMA scheme. Various simulation results show that the proposed scheme can enhance outage performance over the existing schemes.
