This paper introduces a new refinement method for computing tri- angle sequences of a mesh. We apply the method to construct a single generalized triangle strip that completely covers a paramet- ric or implicit surface. A remarkable feature of this application is that, our method generates the triangulation and the triangle strip si- multaneously, using a mesh refinement scheme. As a consequence, we are able to produce a hierarchy of triangle strips defined at each refinement level. This data structure has many applications in ge- ometry compression and rendering. |
