Title
Repairable Fault Tree for the Automatic Evaluation of Repair Policies
Abstract
Fault trees are a well known mean for the evaluation ofdependability of complex systems. Many extensions havebeen proposed to the original formalism in order to enhancethe advantages of Fault Tree Analysis for the designand assessment of systems. In this paper we proposean extension, Repairable Fault Trees, which allows the designerto evaluate the effects of different repair policies ona repairable system: this extended formalism has been integratedin a multi-formalism multi-solution framework, andit is supported by a solution technique which transparentlyexploits Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets (GSPN) for modellingthe repairing process. The modelling technique andthe solution process are illustrated through an example.
