A fully CMOS-compatible translinear element that precisely follows the exponential relation between its input control voltage and output current over more than seven decades of the output current is presented. A statistical analysis of the I-V characteristic of 75 manufactured translinear elements reveals good matching behavior. The proposed translinear element has been tested as a key building block of several fundamental analog primitives to demonstrate its correct behavior. |
