Popgen - Population-Based Recruitment Of Patients And Controls For The Analysis Of Complex Genotype-Phenotype Relationships |
Abstract | ||
---|---|---|
The rela-tive risks of genetic variants associated with complex human diseases can be efficiently assessed by the complete ascertainment of cases in a confined geographical region. The PopGen project, funded by the German Federal Research Ministry (BMBF), pursues this approach in the most northern part of the country (Schleswig-Holstein). In particular, PopGen collects comprehensive genetic epidemiological data for cardiovascular, neuropsychiatric and environmental disease. |
