In this paper, we study the impact ofliveness granularity, the priority function and accurateinterference graph construction on registerallocation performance on EPIC processors withpredication. Fine grained live ranges reduce thenumber of interferences and hence allow both fastercompilation and runtime execution. Similarly, apredicate-aware priority function gives a better registerallocation. However, due to the heuristics usedin hyperblock formation, predicate aware liveness... |
