Title
A multiresolution control method using view directional feature
Abstract
1. ABSTRACT The technique using multiresolution models is one of the research efforts to render complex virtual world in real-time. It is desirable for a multiresolution model to preserve the prominent visual features. In this paper, we present a mechanism that generates the multiresolution model in real-time. Our model incorporates the so-called view dependent features directly into the model generation process. One of the consequences is that object silhouette, that is regarded as the primary feature for visual perception, is preserved in low-resolution representations. To facilitate the real time generation of multiresolution model, a new data structure called
